LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!

Charred Oaks Inn is an award-winning bed and breakfast located 13 miles west of Downtown Lexington, Kentucky in the heart of Woodford County. A made-to-order breakfast is served daily from 8am to 10am in the inn's beautifully appointed Dining Room and Afternoon Refreshments are offered from 4pm-6pm The refreshments include fresh, homebaked pastries and desserts as well as savories and a selection of beverages.

Today's treat features our version of the infamous King Cake in honor of Mardi Gras. The King Cake is a seasonal treat eaten between Twelfth Night (January 6) and Fat Tuesday (today). At Charred Oaks we substitute scones for the yaest cake, but include the traditional decoration in royal colors of purple (for justice), green (for growth) and gold (for welth and prosperity). These colors resemble a jeweled crown honoring the Three Wise Men.
