CHARRED OAKS INN CELEBRATES MOTHER'S DAY!
All of us here at Charred Oaks Inn wish a great big HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all mothers and mothers-to-be! We wish you much love, good health and happiness galore! xoxo
Mothers spending Mother's Day at Charred Oaks Inn, will certainly feel it in the "spoil and pamper" category. At check-in, moms and their traveling companions will be greeted at the front door by innkeepers, Pamela and Richard, and then given a short tour of the common areas including the umbrella tables outside on the terrace completely surrounded by ivy, boxwoods, lilacs, and dogwoods. Awaiting them in their rooms are bouquets of fresh flowers and a menu for tomorrow's breakfast.
For starters, they have a choice of the house's baked oatmeal sqaures topped with greek vanilla yogurt or a fruit and yogurt parfait made with alternating layers of pureed apricots infused with a splash of Grand Marnier and lowfat vailla yogurt and topped with toasted almond slivers. For the entrees they have a sweet option of the house's "Big Blue" French toast (a pocket of artisanal bread stuffed with whipped cream cheese loaded with fresh blueberries, dipped in a magical soak and baked to perfection. A homemade blueberry compote tops this mouth-watering confection. The savory option is eggs baked atop a serving of sauteed spinach dusted with nutmeg and covered with cream and fresh shaved Parmesan cheese before being baked to a bubbly consistency and served with buttered English muffins, perfect for dipping.
After checking in, moms and guests will be treated to complimentary sips and nibbles and tonight's homemade dessert just for Mother's Day is the delectable Chocolate Covered Raspberry brownies. Can we say yum?
Breakfast is served in the inn's dining room or will be delivered to mom in bed - her choice - after all, it is her day!
